Ryan O'Reilly, from Southampton, England, is a songwriter whose Irish heritage and English upbringing combine to create a passionate storyteller whose dark humor is sewn deep into the fabric of his harrowingly honest lyrics. Ryan followed a unique, meandering path in his musical journey, which began performing at open mic nights in Toronto as a teenager and then busking in London. This quickly became popular enough to inspire fan-booked European tours and to pay for studio time with the money he earned busking when he wasn't running from the police on Portobello Road. He creates a tension between melancholy and defiance while possessing a swirling undercurrent of a wistful and twisted worldview that is manifest in the glee Ryan unleashes at his live shows and in the poetry of his records; Reviews often speak of tears of laughter and sadness alike. Ryan has toured Europe extensively in recent years supporting Lissie, King Charles, Arkells, Matthew & The Atlas, The Rural Alberta Advantage and playing headlining shows with his band in Germany, Sweden and the UK. The debut album "The Northern Line" with the singles "The One", "November" and "Sometimes Things Just Happen" entered the German airplay charts.
