ALEXANDER V. ROTHKIRCH - acoustic funk rock'n'roll
One man, one guitar. The Hamburg singer/songwriter Alexander v. Rothkirch needs little to inspire. Great songs, a warm, dark, rough voice and unmistakable, percussive guitar playing. Funk and rock'n'roll for the legs, ballads for the soul. Like himself, his songs are full of dynamism and positive energy, leaving audiences warm to him as soon as he takes the stage. Sympathetic, eloquent, authentic, self-confident, rousing, sometimes loud, sometimes quiet, sometimes solo, sometimes with a band.
He texts and
has been composing for half his life, shaped by a wide variety of musical styles and the environments in which he lived: his music has the tranquility of the forest on the edge of which he grew up, the serenity of New Zealand, where he began to write and the energy of the Big city in which he has now made a name for himself. His lyrics are about self-discovery, love won and lost, friendship, freedom, gratitude and disappointment, always with a hopeful feeling of departure.
"He sweeps aside a whole series of clichés that are attached to the genre description singer-songwriter" (Rheinische Post).
His album "Free", produced with a lot of passion, can be heard on all common streaming platforms. Thanks to his successful crowdfunding campaign, the whole thing is also available on CD and even vinyl.
